ASEAN University Network (AUN) accreditation team visited Informatics Department on February 2015. The visitation aim to asses the education system standard in Informatics Department. AUN is an ASEAN organisation which is established on 1995 with 30 universities members. The members are universities from 10 ASEAN countries. The AUN secretariat is based on Chulalongkorn University Bangkok, Thailand. The main activity is to encourage and promote higher education cooperation and development to enhance regional integration in achieving global standards.
In order to improve the internationalisation recognition, Informatics Department apply for AUN accreditation. There are four departments in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember that apply for AUN accreditation, including Informatic Department. Informatics Department is chosen because of its great achievement. In this visitation, the accreditation team interview lecturers, supporting staffs, students, alumni and user.
The accreditation result will define the reputation and academic standard of Informatics Department equal to those of other reputable universities in ASEAN region. The result itself will be announced in the next couple months.

ITS new student activities in academic year 2013/2014 beginning with the OK2BK activities. OK2BK is orientation of professionalism and competency-based curriculum. This is an activity that started cadre of each department in ITS. With just a week, students are required to know ITS contemporaries without exception and get to know each department, including department head, secretary of department, head of student organization, laboratory administrator, and what functions of the laboratory. The background holding this activity is due to the emergence of the issue of regeneration of each student organization a prolonged negative effect with a form of intimidation and discrimination. With this OK2BK, student organization regeneration became an official event of Rector and is expected to provide benefits in the development of ITS Student cadre as the target of each department should be clear and measurable, so that the results can be reported back to the Rector.
On Wednesday (28/5), Postgraduate Program welcomed new students S2 and S3 Program. Waskitho Wibisono, Ph.D as Head of Informatics Graduate School provided initial welcome. The welcoming ceremony was hosted by Dr. Chastine Fatichah as the Secretary of the Graduate. Furthermore, discussion and sharing tips and tricks of successful learning by Baskoro Adi Pratomo, M. Kom, a young lecturer in Informatics Department who are alumni of the Master Program and graduated with cum laude predicate.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 Department of Informatics received a visit from Dili Institute of Technology (DIT), Timor Leste. In this visit Rector of DIT and his staff was accompanied by International Office (IO) ITS representatives and greeted by Head of Informatics Department and Head of Postgraduate Program. The meeting started with a presentation by Head of Department which provided an introduction to Informatics majors, laboratory, study programs, double degree, and curriculum. DIT showed interest in the double degree program and asked more detail how this double degree process goes. Other related questions were about the double degree requirements, student recruitment, and financing mechanisms.
